In April, members of the Windsor Police Service’s Amherstburg criminal investigations unit launched a probe into KTPC Pools. The force had received several reports that the business’s owner took large deposits to install swimming pools but never started the work or returned the money.

Officers learned the owner of the company was hired by three separate customers in the fall of 2022 to complete pool projects. In exchange, the owner obtained deposits totalling more than $110,000.

Officers also determined KTPC Pools had filed for bankruptcy.
