Three young people have been arrested after stealing two cars, driving across Auckland central and crashing into a member of the public.
The offenders all received moderate injuries.
At about 4.25pm on Thursday, police received a report of a stolen car on Beach Road.
The Eagle helicopter began tracking the car and soon the occupants abandoned the vehicle on Ruskin Street, Parnell where the stole another vehicle.
The group then travelled to Newmarket, where police signalled them to stop, however they kept going.
Police did not follow because the offenders were driving “dangerously”.
Eventually, the offenders crashed into another car on Pah Road in Epsom.
In total, the group travelled around 10km across Auckland central before being caught.
All three offenders have been taken into custody.
