Warner Bros. has officially set a premiere date for The Flash to hit streaming services.

The Ezra Miller-led superhero flick will make its streaming debut on Max on Friday, Aug. 15.

Directed by Andy Muschietti, The Flash sees Miller reprise their role as the titular superhero in this multiverse saga. After learning he can travel back in time, Barry uses his newfound ability to try and save his family. But tampering with the past causes him to get stuck in a reality where he must join forces with Batman and Superman, albeit very different ones we’ve come to know.

The film is loosely adapted from Flashpoint, a comic book storyline that serves as a major milestone for both Flash and Batman. Muschietti and screenwriter Christina Hodson took a different approach to the story, however, and chose to feature other DC characters and their unique timelines, such as Sasha Calle‘s Supergirl.

Mired by its 20 years spent in development hell and Miller’s bout of legal troubles in recent years, The Flash severely underperformed according to its reception when it premiered earlier this summer.

In the box office, The Flash just barely scored just north of its $200 million budget set by DC.

Decider’s John Serba summed up how many critics felt about The Flash when it first premiered earlier this summer, writing in his review of The Flash, “There’s a lot to like about The Flash; there’s a lot to dislike about The Flash. ‘How do you like our endless paradox?’ a character asks at one point, a slashy bit of meta-critical commentary if I’ve ever heard it, and one that sums up the experience of watching DC Universe movies in general.”

The film stars Sasha Calle, Michael Keaton, Michael Shannon, Kiersey Clemons, plus some surprise cameos that are worth tuning in for.

If you didn’t manage to catch the superhero flick when it was in theaters and you can’t wait for next Friday to come around, The Flash is currently available on VOD services such as Prime Video.
