Homicide detectives are investigating the incident and six people are in police custody. As a result of the arrests, they said there’s “currently no danger to the public.”
The victim’s autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday.
The Marlborough platform was also the scene of a stabbing earlier this year in May when a fight between two men resulted in one man being stabbed and sent to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Attack not tied to suspicious death
Investigators say the incident isn’t tied to a suspicious death that occurred around the same time Saturday, where a woman was dropped off at the Foothills Medical Centre at 7 p.m., suffering severe injuries.
She later died in hospital, and detectives are following up with the people who dropped her off. An autopsy is set to take place Monday.
Police ask anybody with information on either incident to contact the non-emergency line at 403-266-1234. Tipsters can also contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
