A Chetak helicopter from the Indian Air Force made a safe precautionary landing on Sunday at Holagadh near Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj due to some technical glitch in the aircraft, an official statement said.
The incident occurred at around 10:40 am on Saturday and no injuries or harm was reported following the landing of the helicopter, which was on a routine training mission.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Central Air Command of the IAF said, “One Chetak helicopter of the IAF, on a routine training mission carried out a safe precautionary landing at 1040h at Holagadh near Prayagraj. No harm or injuries reported.The helicopter has been flown back to base after providing necessary technical assistance.”

Few days back, an Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter made an emergency landing in Assam’s Dhubri district and then again in Barpeta after sometime.
A defence official said that the chopper was carrying a few personnel and had gone to Dhubri for “some work”.
An IAF official from Eastern Air Command headquarters in Shillong refused to comment and stated that she did not have information on the development.
According to state government officials, the chopper had around a dozen occupants and some of them disembarked when it made an emergency landing at a field near Chapar in Dhubri.
A local official however said that the same helicopter again made an emergency landing at Sidhuni village near Barpeta town in Barpeta district around 4pm.
“After some time, another chopper came with engineers. After dropping them for repairs, the second helicopter left. The engineers have been working since then and it will fly tomorrow morning if the problem is rectified,” he added.
The official further said that there were two pilots when the chopper landed in Barpeta and both of them are fine.
Meanwhile, hundreds of villagers had surrounded the chopper out of curiosity and police reached the spot to control the situation.
