The boss of Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson’s beauty brand Leighton Richards and his wife, Myer family member Laura Richards, are selling their glitzy home in Glen Iris.
Since 2020, Mr Richards has been the chief executive of WelleCo, a wellness and beauty supplement company founded by the A-list Aussie.
His wife Ms Shelmerdine (nee Richards) is the granddaughter of Australian business magnate Sidney Myer and is on the mental health committee of the family’s philanthropic group the Myer Foundation.

And the pair aren’t the only high-profile faces in the area — the Herald Sun understands triple Hawthorn premiership footballer Josh Gibson’s home neighbours the 33 Ellis Rd pad.
The Richards couple purchased the five-bedroom house in 2019 and have now listed it with a $4.5m-$4.95m price tag with RT Edgar Toorak director Sarah Case.
Built in the 1920s, the home recently received a stunning transformation that blended period features such as the original leadlight bay window at the facade with glamorous contemporary additions like Cote D’Azur marble and American walnut veneer joinery in the kitchen.
A landscaped rear garden features a fire pit and spacious deck leading through to the airy, open-plan living space through floor-to-ceiling glass doors.
“As a family, we value an open-door policy for our four children and all of their friends,” Ms Richards said.
“When designing the floorplan, it was imperative we created a dynamic home that could accommodate dinner for six through to dinner for 20.
“Whether milling over the extensive kitchen island, enjoying a casual drink in the sunken lounge or sitting on the deck watching the children play on the lawn, the house never feels too small or too large … it is this Goldilocks effect of the home that makes it such a joy to reside in.”
The spacious main bedroom is found an on the ground floor and features a huge walk-in wardrobe and stylish Italian terrazzo, dual-vanity ensuite.
A guest bedroom with an ensuite, a study and a separate lounge room are also located on this floor, while a spiral staircase beside the kitchen leads up to three further bedrooms upstairs, all with built-in wardrobes and desks.
When designing the expansive renovation, Ms Richards said their vision for the home began with the garden.
“Tree-lined fences would one day offer a green oasis to be enjoyed from inside and out, offering a private setting escaping the chaos that lies beyond,” she said.
“Every aspect has something to be enjoyed, captured in the light and shadows created throughout the day, and more broadly, throughout the seasons.”
Other high-end features include two “apple green” bathrooms upstairs, one with a freestanding bathtub, a Rosso Levanto marble powder room downstairs, plus oak and Turkish limestone floors throughout.
“It is the perfect blend of togetherness and independence,” Ms Richards added.
She said the ability to separate the old from the new created privacy and autonomy for growing children and a “quiet retreat” for working parents.
Ms Case noted that the design also promoted “wellness” and created an environment that transcended conventional luxury.
“This is truly a unique home for the area and I’m thrilled to represent such an extraordinary property,” she said.
“Blending period and contemporary in such a stylish, sophisticated way yet making it so practical and easy to live in is simply exceptional.”
Expressions of interest close at 12pm on October 23.
