Author Douglas Murray has condemned the UK’s “very inept set of policies” amid reports British taxpayers have spent £36 billion on jobless legal migrants and international students.
At the same time, they’re being told thanks to an ageing population, they’ll have to retire later, and possibly for a smaller pension too.
Author Douglas Murray says instead of prioritising high skilled workers, the government has prioritised low skilled workers.
“And students who, of course … do not pay their way,” he told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“They are a drain on the state; they take out more in benefits than they put in in taxation and almost certainly always will.”
