Israeli MP Sharren Haskel fears hostages being released won’t be able to be rehabilitated because of how much they will have been “radicalised.”
“We understand what will happen with those people who are released, because time after time those people who have been radicalised, are not being rehabilitated,” Ms Haskel told Sky News Australia host Peta Credlin.
“They don’t have remorse their actions, they don’t feel guilty, on the contrary, they’re proud of it.
“Their communities see them as heroes, they’re being paid for it, ten times more than the average salary.
“You can’t be rehabilitated from being radicalised if you don’t understand that you’ve committed a crime, if you feel like you’re a hero, if you are being praised, and paid for it.”
The prisoners on the Israeli list were arrested between 2021 and 2023, with most of them accused of threatening security, illegally entering Israel without a permit, and violent crimes.
