BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 18. At the
12th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan joint intergovernmental
commission in Azerbaijan’s Shusha, an agreement was signed between
the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan and the Fund for
Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan, Minister of Economy
of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov tweeted, Trend reports.
“The agreements envisage the establishment of an
Azerbaijani-Uzbek Investment Company, as well as the development of
cooperation in the field of energy. The implementation of these
documents will further strengthen our economic partnership and
foster closer cooperation between the business circles of both
countries,” the minister said.
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan
from January through May 2023 amounted to $76.7 million, of which
52.2 million accounted for Uzbek exports and 24.5 million for
imports.
