Energy stocks were the worst performers on Tuesday, with telecommunications and banks also dropping.
Australia’s largest almond producer, Select Harvests, was the top performer after a positive farming outlook, jumping up 10.42 per cent.
Losing value on Tuesday was petrol refiner and retailer Viva Energy, which dropped due to media speculation around a major shareholder considering selling its $500 million stake in the business.
Platinum Asset Management fell too, as well as the investigative software company Nuix.
