Allianz League openers revealed as Dublin to take on Monaghan at Croke Park

That game is expected to be preceded by Kildare’s ‘home’ Division 2 game against Cavan, a double-header that has been provisionally fixed for Croke Park but is subject to approval from counties in the coming days.

Kildare look set to play some of their Allianz Division 2 games in Croke Park as St Conleth’s Park in Newbridge is being redeveloped.

The draft league fixtures for hurling and football have been circulated to counties this morning.

And All-Ireland finalists Kerry will host the now Mickey Harte managed Derry, a repeat of their classic All-Ireland semi-final in July, in their opening game on Sunday January 28 in Killarney.

On the same afternoon Mayo are in Pearse Stadium in Galway for their opening game while Roscommon travel to Tyrone.

In Division 2, Jim McGuinness will have a home game against Cork on Saturday night as his first competitive fixture since returning to the fold earlier this year while Armagh will have back-to-back home Saturday night fixtures, against Louth (January 27) and Meath (February 3), at the Athletic Grounds to start their campaign.

Colm O’Rourke’s Meath will have Fermanagh at home in Navan in their opening game.

Harte will face his native county Tyrone in an eagerly anticipated second round fixture in Celtic Park on Saturday evening, February 3. On the same night Dublin are in MacHale Park in Castlebar to play Mayo.

Kerry will be in Croke Park to play Dublin in round four on Saturday February 24, a repeat of the All-Ireland football final.

The Allianz hurling league gets underway on the weekend of Saturday/Sunday February 3/4.

All-Ireland champions Limerick are at home to Antrim, Clare host Cork and Kilkenny will play Wexford in Nowlan Park, all Sunday fixtures. Dublin and Tipperary will meet on the Saturday evening.
