Menzies Research Centre Senior Fellow Nick Cater says Victoria’s debt is “by far the largest” across Australia.
Mr Cater said there is “no plan to pay it off”.
“They don’t have in their forward estimates, a sort of pay down the debt plan,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“Whereas in New South Wales and Queensland, at least it’s there.
“This is really troubling; Victoria is not a state with lots of resources.”
