Travis Kelce’s sweet bonding moment with Taylor Swift’s dad

Travis Kelce is well-known for his football skills, but it’s more his life love that’s thrust him into the public eye lately.

After endless rumors were swirling about the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end and pop sensation Taylor Swift seeing each other, the two have now been reported as dating. Her dedicated fanbase of Swifties now appears to be showing more interest in football after she appeared at several games.

Now, Taylor’s father, Scott, is getting in on the action—photos of the two bonding at her concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina, have emerged—and the internet doesn’t know how to cope.

Initially teased in the promotion for Travis and his brother Jason’s latest podcast episode, New Heights, fans saw some social media posts that said: “Folks … we’ve got a lot to talk about. NEW EPISODE PREMIERES TOMORROW.”

The post on X, formerly Twitter, had been viewed over 774,000 thousand times by social media users when this article was published. It also showed an image of Travis standing next to Scott, which stoked further online hysteria around the Swift-Kelce partnership.

In the photo, Scott is standing next to Travis, but eagle-eyed sports fans noticed that Scott had swapped his usual support for the Philadelphia Eagles for the Kansas City Chiefs by wearing the team’s lanyard around his neck. Philadelphia is the team that Travis’ brother plays for.

A quote from the episode was also featured on the post, with Jason coming clean about trying to keep Scott in check and to remember his allegiance to the team.

Episode 64 of the podcast, which landed on Wednesday, was titled: “The Sexiest Batman Alive, The Guy on the Chiefs, and A Kelce Duet.”

The quote in question on the podcast show was from Jason and what he said to Scott: “You’re gonna let this man’s devilishly good looks and relationship with your daughter sway you from a life of fandom, Scott. This is ridiculous.”

While also in Buenos Aires, Taylor changed some song lyrics in “Karma” to give a nod to her partner. She sang: “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me.” The crowd roared at this as well as a clip showing Travis putting his head into his hands at that time. The song’s original lyrics are: “Karma is the guy on the screen, coming straight home to me.”

Travis said on the podcast: “When I heard it come out of her mouth, it still shocked me. I was like, ‘Oh Shhh…’ she really just said that.”

Jason joked that the video of him looking visibly shocked meant he left Scott “hanging” for a high five.

He said: “You were so shocked you left Scott hanging. Scott is over here waiting for a high five.” Travis was quick to jump in: “Mr Swift, I apologize, big guy. I never miss a high five too; I’m a big high-five guy. It’s the most electric thing you can do at an event.”

When it came to the lanyard, Jason went in on him. “He even had your Chiefs Lanyard on,” he stated, to which his brother hit back: “I got him over here to the good side, baby.”

“What are we doing, Scott,” Jason questioned.

Travis revealed: “I might have persuaded him at dinner the night before when I met him.”

Several followers of the podcast commented on the build-up post to share their thoughts. One social media follower said: “Jason’s joking, but he’s right. And everyone will take it lightly, it’s just sports. No, there’s a level of loyalty that goes with fandom. If these people will cheat on their childhood sports teams, they’ll cheat on everything else they do in life. “

A Swiftie added: “This is gonna be good, thanks @JasonKelce for being our best Swiftie.”

Another supporter continued: “Seriously, Jason. I think any Dad would be over the moon if his daughter brought home a 2xSB champ, future HOF, NFL superstar. I think the conversion to that boyfriend’s team would be damn near instantaneous.”
