Intruders have stormed the set of a major Ecuadorian television network in the port city of Guayaquil.
The violence occurred just hours after the country’s president declared a state of emergency.
The intruders occupied the television network’s studio for around 30 minutes with the police taking another additional 30 minutes to arrive.
The declaration was made after the escape of a high-profile gang leader from prison.
There are now heightened fears of further violence in a bloody criminal turf war.
