Sky News host Liz Storer says the “terrifying moral” of Labor’s social housing debacle is that the Australian government can be “held to ransom” at the whims of the Greens and their allies.
Labor’s $10 billion Housing Australia Future Fund is expected to pass parliament this week after the Federal government and the Greens agreed on terms.
Despite the resolution of this legislation battle, The Greens say they will continue to fight Labor on trying to get a rent freeze implemented.
“Because if they could have, they would have ran this through months ago – they’ve been trying very hard,” Ms Storer said.
“The Greens have been sniggering away saying, ‘we will not relent until we get what we want’, and here we have a very happy Adam Bandt.”
