Police in Surrey continue to appeal to a hit-and-run driver in a July 29 fatal crash to come forward, and are also hoping to talk to the driver of a white Tesla who drove by the scene moments later.
Surrey RCMP are investigating the collision that seriously injured a pedestrian shortly after 12:30 a.m. Saturday. The 31-year-old man who was struck later died in hospital.

A white Tesla was seen driving south past the crash scene in the 8200-block of 128th Street soon after, and investigators hope the car’s dashcam might have captured the crash and suspect vehicle.
RCMP Cpl. Vanessa Munn said in a release Wednesday it’s possible the Tesla driver wasn’t even aware of driving past a fatal crash.
“There is a family grieving the loss of their loved one and they deserve answers,” said Munn. “Police are urging the driver involved in the collision to contact them. Although you can’t change what happened, you can do the right thing and help bring some closure to the family.”
Anyone who was there that night or has dash footage of the collision or vehicle involved is urged to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
