The King of Great Britain, Charles III, shared his heartfelt sympathies with President Droupadi Murmu in regards to the triple train collision tragedy in Odisha. He conveyed his deep sorrow and shock upon hearing the news. He voiced his sadness about the upsetting incident in Balasore.
“Both my wife and I have been most profoundly shocked and saddened by the news of such a dreadful accident outside Balasore. I would like to express our deepest possible condolences to the families of all those who have so tragically lost their lives,” King Charles said, as per the official handle of the Royal Family which tweeted the message on Monday.
The message of condolence included more than just a show of support for the families of the victims. It also included a recollection of pleasant past experiences when he visited Odisha back in 1980.
“I do hope you know what a special place India and the people of India have in our hearts. I have particularly fond memories of visiting Odisha in 1980 and meeting some of its people on that occasion,” the message reads.
“I pray, therefore, that you may be able to convey our most heartfelt prayers and sympathy to all those who have been affected by this appalling tragedy, together with our special thoughts for the people of Odisha,” the message further reads.

Messages of sympathy and support flooded in from all corners of the world following the devastating train crash that occurred in Odisha last Friday evening. The tragedy resulted in the loss of 275 lives and left more than a thousand individuals wounded.
In a Twitter post, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan conveyed his condolences for the devastating collision of three trains in Balasore, Odisha that resulted in the loss of 275 lives and left more than 1,000 individuals injured.
“On behalf of myself and my nation, I offer my condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the train accident in Odisha, India, as well to the people and the government of India. We wish a speedy recovery to the injured. We stand by India as it mourns the loss of lives in the tragic accident,” Erdogan tweeted.
Previously, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken communicated through a phone call with External Affairs Minister Jaishankar to convey his condolences for the tragic triple train collision that resulted in multiple fatalities.
