Queensland Opposition Leader David Crisafulli has taken aim at the state government for being “at war with itself” instead of focusing on challenges like housing, youth crime and the cost of living crisis.
His remarks come as a three-way tussle is brewing between Queensland Deputy Premier Steven Miles, Treasurer Cameron Dick and Health Minister Shannon Fentiman to replace the outgoing Annastacia Palaszczuk as premier.
“Ultimately, it should have been Queenslanders that got a chance to pass judgment,” Mr Crisafulli told Sky News Australia.
“Not the three undermining members of the premiers’ cabinet and not unelected people, power brokers within the Labor party.
“I think that’s what’s left people most uncomfortable, the way it’s all handled, at a time when the government should be focused on all manner of things that are burning through the Queensland economy.”
