Gardai and HSA investigating deathIncident happened at a home in Clondalkin
Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) are investigating the death of a man in his 50s in a workplace accident in Clondalkin in Dublin last night.
The incident happened at 7.50pm at a premises in the Dublin 22 area.
While the investigation is in its early stages, one line of inquiry being examined is that the man was a plumber who was electrocuted in a house while carrying out work there.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed for a post mortem examination.
Both An Garda Síochána and the HSA have confirmed the incident is under investigation.
“Gardaí received report of a fatal workplace accident that occurred at a premises in Clondalkin, Co Dublin at approximately 7:50pm yesterday, 5th of October 2023.”
“One man aged in his 50s was pronounced deceased. His body has been removed from the scene and a post-mortem will take place at a later time. The coroner has been notified,” said a statement from An Garda Síochána.
The HSA was notified in respect of the matter and has confirmed it attended the scene to conduct an examination and that it has launched an investigation.
