The 2023 edition of Montreal’s Santa Claus parade will travel a new route when it kicks off on Saturday morning.Â
The parade will start at 11 a.m. on René-Lévesque Blvd. opposite the esplanade at Place Ville Marie. The 13 floats in the event, one of which will include the Grey Cup winning Montreal Alouettes, will then proceed north along Robert-Bourassa Blvd. to Ste-Catherine St., where it will turn east before ending at Place des Arts near the corner of St. Urbain St.

Families are then invited to meet Santa Claus at Complexe Desjardins.
Spectators can line the whole parade route except for Ste-Catherine St. between Bleury and Balmoral Sts., due to a private construction site. Beginning at 10 a.m., spectators will be able to gather to watch the event on a jumbo screen erected at Dorchester Square.
The current weather forecast for Saturday morning calls for sunny skies and a high of about 1 degree Celsius.
Those unable to attend will be able to watch the parade on Sunday at 4 p.m. on the TVA network. The event will also be broadcast on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 1:30 p.m.Â
