Environment Canada’s forecast Thursday morning called for up to 30 millimetres of rain, but a special weather statement warned local amounts could rise to 50 mm during a thunderstorm.
The agency reminded Montrealers that heavy rain can cause flash flooding and ponding on roads and that localized flooding could happen in low-lying areas.

The risk of thunderstorms will continue until afternoon.
Expect a mainly cloudy high of 25 C during the day, with a UV index of 4, or moderate. With the humidex, it will feel like 33 C. At night, a low of 21 C with a few clouds.
