Environment Canada sent app-users a reminder this weekend of how to read their weather warnings.
“A watch means that weather conditions are favourable for a storm … it’s time to start paying attention,” the meteorological agency said. A warning, however, is the most severe alert they issue and means people should start taking action to stay safe. During summertime, alerts could warn of the potential for tornadoes, so Environment Canada goes on to say that if there’s a possibility of a tornado, it’ll issue a watch and a warning.
