With Carbery out of contract at the end of the season, he could leave Munster, with several clubs understood to be interested in securing his services.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to France in the past, and as he enters the final few months of his current deal, Bordeaux are believed to have expressed an interest in signing Carbery.

Keen to bolster their squad in a bid to fight on two fronts, Bordeaux have big ambitions for the Top 14 and the Champions Cup, which they have made an impressive start to, including hammering Connacht at the Sportsground in their opener.
Adding Carbery to their already star-studded backline that includes French stars Jalibert, Damian Penaud and Louis Bielle-Biarrey, Bordeaux would be seen as a very attractive proposition for the 37-cap Ireland out-half.
However, Independent.ie understands that nothing has been formally agreed yet.
Munster would be reluctant to lose Carbery, especially considering Ben Healy left for Edinburgh last summer.
Jack Crowley is now the province’s undisputed first-choice number 10 but as soon as Carbery recovers from his latest wrist issue, he is expected to provide stiff competition.
Other than Carbery, academy player Tony Butler is the only other recognised out-half in the Munster squad, with centre Rory Scannell often providing cover.
Carbery has endured a difficult few years with various injuries but he remains a talented player, as is evidenced by a club of Bordeaux’s calibre showing genuine interest in luring him to France.
Munster are set to lose to RG Snyman to Leinster next season, a move that could be confirmed soon, with Carbery’s future now also uncertain.
