TOKYO — Japanese retail group Aeon will begin overhauling its logistics next spring at around 3,300 of its domestic stores to deal with the legal cap on driver overtime, which takes effect next April.
The major supermarket operator announced Friday that it will improve efficiency by increasing load rates for trucks and by using artificial intelligence. The company also said it will ease driver workloads by adjusting store operations and shifting to other means of transport.
