There was a devastating Newspoll out on Monday which showed that the Voice appears all but dead with just 38 per cent in support of the referendum.
Last week on Sunday Agenda Opposition Leader Peter Dutton said that if elected he would hold a second referendum on constitutional recognition for Aboriginal people alone without the Voice.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese slammed Mr Dutton’s second referendum pitch during Question Time in parliament on Tuesday saying the Opposition Leader “wants to see Indigenous people, he just doesn’t want them to be heard”.
His spokeswoman Shadow Minister for Indigenous Australians Jacinta Nampijinpa Price did not seem as enthusiastic when asked about the second referendum later in the week.
Ms Price said there would need to be “further discussion” before she would back Mr Dutton’s referendum plan.
