October is Black History Month in Ireland and the UK. The month is an opportunity for people to learn more about the history of African communities and to remember important historical events to learn from them. This year, the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) will kick the month off on October 5 with the theme: ‘Highlighting the crucial role that black women have played in shaping history, inspiring change and building communities’.
