A former RAF Medic has created a beautiful poppy display for Armistice Day. Christy Cox of Swansea, Wales spent weeks handcrafting the display of a sea of poppies for the estate where she lives. Each year the residents gather around Christy’s display for both Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday. The creative display is made from thousands of hand-painted bottle ends which were donated by Christy’s family and friends from around Swansea. Christy, who suffers from PTSD after having served in the RAF, found solace in crafting. “Remembrance for me is important, I remember those who gave everything, those of us that have served, continue to service and support loved ones but also to remember those who live with the effects of their service.”. This year Christy will be proudly marching at The Cenotaph in London on Sunday alongside those who have served in various wars.
