“On the scene, the police located at least one projectile impact on the facade of the business,” said Jeanne Drouin, a spokesperson for Montreal police.
“According to information, the suspect(s) fled in a vehicle before the police arrived,” she said.
Three people were inside the business when the shots rang out, but no one was injured. It is not known whether these people or the operator of the business in question were targeted or the motive for the crime.
“For the moment, the causes and circumstances of this event remain unknown. During the night, the canine unit was deployed to search for evidence. Forensic identification technicians were also on site to analyze the scene,” Drouin said.
The security perimeter was lifted in the area before dawn, but the police investigation continues.
