For almost 28 years, the murder of rap icon Tupac Shakur has been unsolved. But, it appears that the Las Vegas Metro Police investigators might’ve caught a break in the case–at least enough to issue and execute a search warrant for a local home.
8 News Now first reported the story, saying that the LVMPD confirmed the warrant to them. Meanwhile, ABC News published their statement.
“LVMPD can confirm a search warrant was served in Henderson, Nevada on July 17, 2023, as part of the ongoing Tupac Shakur homicide investigation. We will have no further comment at this time.”

What We Know About Tupac Shakur’s Murder
Tupac’s murder has influenced countless works of art, including movies, shows, documentaries, and even conspiracy theories about him still being alive.
But as for the facts, we know Tupac Shakur was shot on September 7, 1996, after seeing a Mike Tyson fight at a Las Vegas casino. The bullets struck him as he exited the venue, and the drive-by shooter was able to flee the scene. The shooter’s identity has yet to be discovered.
Though he initially survived the shooting, the hip-hop legend died at the hospital six days later on September 13. He was 25 years old.
Shakur was less than a decade into his now prolific music and acting career. He stepped onto the scene in 1990 after joining an Oakland-based rap group called Digital Underground.
Tupac Shakur appeared on two projects with the group before his solo debut with 2Pacalypse Now in 1991. By the following year, he was cast in the movie Juice and his Poetic Justice role came in 1993.
