Union Minister and BJP candidate from Muzzafarnagar Sanjeev Balyan’s convoy was attacked during his campaign for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 on Saturday. Many people allegedly pelted stones at his convoy, according to media reports. The BJP leader is safe.
However, it is not yet clear who is responsible for the attack, but the saffron party alleges that the opposition is carrying out such attacks out of frustration. Satyanarayan Prajapat SP Muzaffarnagar said that around 8:30 pm they received information about stone pelting from village Madkarimpur under the PS limit Khatauli.

Prajapat added, “After reaching the village, it came to light that today in the evening, a public meeting was being held in the village by the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate. During this public meeting, slogans were first raised by some anti-social elements and then stones were pelted at the convoy of vehicles parked outside.”

District President of Bharatiya Janata Party Sudhir Saini said that the opposition is scared of the increasing popularity of Sanjeev Balyan. Citing details of the incident, Saini said that at least 2 have been injured and 6-7 vehicles have been damaged.
The ensuing Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh are scheduled to take place in seven phases, with Muzaffarnagar slated for voting in the first phase on April 19.
