Australian schools have a ‘shortage of teachers’

Sky News contributor Joe Hildebrand says Australia has a “shortage of teachers”.

Australian teenagers have fallen almost two full academic years behind students that went to school in the early 2000’s.

Mr Hildebrand told Sky News host Paul Murray that teachers are not spending “enough time” in the classroom before they graduate.

“We don’t have enough people in teaching in the first place.

“That’s the problem.”
