Australia getting ‘caught in a snare trap’ with misinformation bill

Liberal Senator Alex Antic says “people are onto” the Labor government’s continued push for its misinformation bill.

The bill broadly defines misinformation as material that is unintentionally “false, misleading or deceptive” and is “reasonably likely to cause serious harm”.

“The misinformation bill, a bit like the digital ID bill, are both of great concern to the Australian people,” Mr Antic said.

“Ultimately, these are the same bills which are being introduced all across the West – all at the behest of big corporates and the World Economic Forum.

“We are being caught in a snare trap with these pieces of legislation.”
