CommSec’s Tom Piotrowski says the futures are indicating the ASX 200 will “kick off flat” on Thursday.
“Not a bad outcome under the circumstances given generally the trend in the Northern Hemisphere was stocks being pressured,” he told Sky News Australia.
“So, as we move into the final minutes of the US session, we’ve got the Nasdaq down by around two and a quarter per cent.
“That’s where the casualties have been found on Wall Street, in the tech sector.
“The S&P 500 down 1.5 per cent and the Dow Jones down by 0.4 of a per cent.”
