Two people have been hospitalised after a car on display at a shopping centre suddenly reversed into a Myer shopfront.
NSW police said the incident happened at about 12.30pm on Saturday at Westfield Liverpool Shopping Centre in Sydney’s west.
Officers spoke to a 14-year-old boy at the scene and he was allowed to leave with a family member. A crime scene has been established.

Investigations, that also involve Safework NSW, continue.

Police believe a teenager was sitting in one of two vehicles that were on display outside Myer. They understand the vehicle suddenly accelerated forward, smashing a glass panel, and then reversed into beauty concession stands at the department store.

Photos posted online appeared to show the vehicle was a BYD electric vehicle.
A man who was in the vicinity, who requested to remain anonymous, told SBS News he heard a loud bang before “everyone got up and ran”.
Police said a man in his 50s was treated for minor head injuries, and another in his 30s was treated for chest injuries.

“They were both taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition,” NSW police said in a statement.

A Westfield Liverpool spokesperson also confirmed the incident.

“Our team engaged emergency services regarding an incident at Westfield Liverpool this afternoon,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
“Our team are continuing to support authorities in their response as well as those directly impacted by the incident.”
Myer said it would support “customers and team members following this incident”.
“We are working with police and will be assisting relevant authorities with whatever information they are requiring,” a Myer spokesperson said.

SBS News has contacted BYD for comment.
