A severe thunderstorm watch has been put in effect on Sunday for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent.
Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, according to Environment Canada.
There is a potential n the Windsor area for strong wind gusts up to 110 km/h., dime to nickel size hail and risk of a tornado, the federal agency said.
The watch remains in effect from Sunday afternoon into the evening.
A line of thunderstorms has developed over lower Michigan and is expected to move into southwestern Ontario. Water-related activities may be unsafe due to violent and sudden gusts of wind over bodies of water.
