The canned bid to purchase the Whakapapa ski field assets out of the Ruapehu Alpine Lifts insolvency was asking for an uncomfortable level of Crown support, according to a cabinet paper.
However, the financier for the sole bid for Whakapapa believes the Government will need to offer extensive support to anyone wanting to operate the field because of the Sky Waka gondola.
