Extensive damage in Daintree Village as massive clean-up begins in Far North Qld

A massive clean-up effort is underway in Far North Queensland.

Flood-damaged communities are now facing shortages of critical supplies such as food and water.

There has been extensive damage in the Daintree Village, with up to two metres of rainfall tipping over the community within hours.

People were rescued off their rooftops while entire roads have been ripped to pieces.

The Daintree Ferry has been acting as a vital service connecting communities further north to areas like Daintree which are north of Port Douglas.
