Ryan Cooney (28) missing in Tenerife.
A missing person appeal has been issued for an Irishman who has gone missing in Tenerife while on holiday.
Ryan Cooney (28) was said to be last seen on Thursday morning in Paraiso del Sol apartment complex in Playa de las Americas after leaving the hotel he was staying in a pair of shorts and runners.
Mr Cooney is described to be 5 foot 11’ in height, with dark hair.
According to a social media post on Missing Persons Helpline Ireland, the Irish Embassy in Madrid is aware of the case and the family of the Irishman is being assisted.
His family also said Mr Cooney has not taken his prescribed medication since last Wednesday.
“Ryan has two black eyes as he was attacked and the assailants took all his money and his phone. Hospitals and Police in Tenerife have been notified and the police also have his passport,” the post added.
The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed to the Irish Independent that they are aware of the case and providing consular assistance
