Industries minister Uday Samant gave credit to the Eknath Shinde government for trying to rebuild the confidence of businesses and industries to bring back more investment in the state

The ruling Eknath Shinde government has targeted Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aaditya for being the prime reason for major projects and industries moving out of Maharashtra.

In a series of posts on micro blogging website ‘X’, state industries minister Uday Samant said, “Big industries like Vedanta-Foxconn, Airbus Tata and Bulk Drug Park have moved out of Maharashtra. The previous Maha Vikas Aghadi government of Uddhav Thackeray is fully responsible for this.” Samant also blamed Thackeray for bringing in “wrong policies” during their government, which made many industries feel unsafe to carry out their business in Maharashtra. Samant is also of the opinion that due to Thackeray, Maharashtra also lost the credibility.

Samant also questioned Thackeray over Mumbai losing IFSC status while Gujarat was given the recognition by the UPA government in 2011. The High Power Expert Committee under the chairmanship of Percy Mistry had recommended that IFSC be denied to Mumbai as it lacks infrastructure and all big projects are moving forward at snail’s pace.

“Fifteen years of coalition government of Congress and NCP made Mumbai “miserable and deprived it of development. Aaditya Thackeray should ask Congress why they gave IFSC recognition to Gujarat in 2011. During the Thackeray government, Aaditya tried to block major projects such as Metro car shed, Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train. Such decisions halted the development of Mumbai and shattered the confidence of investors,” Samant added.

He gave credit to the Shinde government for trying to rebuild the confidence of businesses and industries to bring back more investment in the state. “Through various decisions and policies taken by our government in the last one year, we are now gaining the confidence of investors. Instead of politicising big projects, Thackeray should apologise to the people of the state for losing the trust and confidence of the investors in the state government”.

A few months ago, when all the Bright Jet Aero projects had moved to other states, Shiv Sena UBT leader Aaditya Thackeray had blamed the Shinde government, and took out rallies protesting the loss of thousands of jobs of Maharashtra’s youth. Aaditya had also questioned the current government over projects moving out of Maharashtra to Gujarat.
