Busy Oshima bags more bulk carrier orders – Splash247

The yard with the longest orderbook in Japan, Oshima Shipbuilding, keeps on raking in orders.

Oshima has won a contract from Korean owner Pan Ocean for two 64,000 dwt ultramaxes, due for delivery in 2026, according to Clarksons Research. The builder also received an order from Greek owner Alassia Newships for two 64,000 dwt ultramaxes and an 82,000 dwt kamsarmax. The utramaxes are due for delivery in Q4 2024, while the kamsarmax is due to be delivered in 2025. No prices have been revealed.

With a record orderbook, Oshima took over Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’s Nagasaki Shipyard & Machinery Works (Koyagi), and started construction of a first bulk carrier there in April.
