Pune city police arrested seven Bangladeshi nationals and rescued a minor girl, who is also from Bangladesh, from a brothel in Pune’s Budhwar Peth area Tuesday. Acting on a tip-off, a team of social security cell of Pune city police crime branch raided a brothel in Budhwar Peth on Tuesday and nabbed five women and two men, all from Bangladesh.
Police said all seven had illegally entered India via the West Bengal border recently. An offence was lodged against them as per sections of the Passport Act and Foreigners Act.

The police also rescued a minor girl hailing from Bangladesh from a brothel. “A flesh trade agent from Bangladesh had lured the girl on assurance of providing her a job at a beauty parlour. He brought her to Kolkata illegally via Bengal border on September 2, and sold her to a sex racketeer in for Rs 2 lakh. The racketeer then forced the girl into prostitution at a brothel in Pune,” said senior police inspector Bharat Jadhav of social security cell.
Police have lodged an offence against three persons for allegedly forcing the minor girl in sex trade.
An FIR in this case is registered at the Faraskhana police station under sections 370, 370 (a), 363, 366 (a), 344, 34 of the Indian Penal Code and sections of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA).
