A motorcyclist in the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean region died Saturday night after striking a moose.
The crash happened at around 8:15 p.m. on 10th Rang in the municipality of St-Gédéon, which sits on Lake St-Jean about 15 kilometres southwest of the town of Alma.

Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Stéphane Tremblay said the 21-year-old rider, a resident of Alma, was alone on his bike travelling toward the town when he hit the animal.
After several attempts to resuscitate the motorcyclist, he was taken to the Alma hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The moose also died of his injuries.
An officer specializing in collision investigations was assigned to the case.
